Asus ROG Ally Set To Hit Indian Market On July 7: Check Out Price And Specifications

As per a Flipkart listing, Asus is gearing up to launch its inaugural handheld gaming device, the ROG Ally, in the Indian market on July 7.

The Windows-based handheld was recently introduced to the global market and offers two chip options – AMD’s Z1 and Z1 Extreme processors – both based on the Zen 4 architecture, along with an RDNA3-based GPU. It has a 7-inch FHD display with a refresh rate of 120Hz.

However, while the India launch of the system has been confirmed, it is still uncertain whether both the chipset options will be available in the country or whether India will only get one configuration.

Now that Flipkart’s launch date is set in stone, the system is making its way to India faster than expected. This device is intended to compete with other handheld systems such as the Nintendo Switch and the Valve Steam Deck. Neither of these competing devices have been officially launched in the Indian market yet, so consumers can rely on gray channels or online platforms without warranty.

ROG Ally specifications

The Asus ROG Ally is available in two configurations: the high-end model features the AMD 4nm Ryzen Z1 Extreme chipset, 8 cores and 16 threads clocked up to 5.1 GHz, and the base model features the AMD Ryzen Z1 chipset. . Both models feature an RDNA3-based GPU with 4GB of VRAM, 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD.

It has a 7-inch IPS panel with 1080p resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync support and Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the display glass.

Running Windows 11, ROG Ally offers three months of free Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and is compatible with third-party game clients such as Steam and Epic Games. As a ROG device, the Ally features ROG laptop staples, including the Armory Crate SE app. For ports, it has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type C port, UHS-II and a microSD card reader. The device is powered by a 40WHr battery with 65W fast charging support.

ASUS ROG Ally: Price and Availability in India

The ROG Ally will be available exclusively on Flipkart starting July 7. However, Asus ROG has not revealed the official price for the Indian market at this time. But a report by Gizmochina claims that the handset could be priced at Rs 71,999 for the Z1 chip variant and Rs 79,999 for the Z1 Extreme chip.

Internationally, the more expensive variant is priced at $700 (roughly Rs. 58,000), while the base model is priced at $600 (roughly Rs. 50,000). If Asus maintains similar pricing in the Indian market – the ROG Ally could be an attractive option – especially compared to the Valve Steam Deck which sells for a similar or higher price and has no warranty in India.
